JOHN PYE & SONS has kicked off it's 2010 Maggie's Appeal with a £2,000 donation to the Nottingham cancer charity. Managing Director, Adam Pye, presented Maggie's Nottingham fundraiser, Sarah Macey, with a £2,000 cheque at James Shipstone House in Nottingham, a contribution made out of the company's operating profits.
John Pye & Sons hope to increase this amount over the coming months with a number of staff fundraising events and a charity auction (details to be confirmed in the next couple of months).
The donation made headlines in the Nottingham Evening Post, which has helped to champion the Maggie's Appeal to raise £3m to build a specialist restbite support facility for those newly diagnosed with cancer.
